Vinous Eric Guido - 20 Mar 24
The 2017 Collio Rosso Riserva is distinctly savory, with wild herbs and earth tones giving way to exotic spices, crushed stone and mentholated black currants. This is texturally deep, with silken waves of ripe red and blue fruits energized by zesty acidity as hints of sour citrus and saline mineral tones saturate. The 2017 lingers long, leaving suggestions of salted licorice and violet inner florals that slowly fade over a coating of edgy tannins. Two thousand seventeen was a warmer vintage, yet a cool September allowed the grapes to reach balanced maturity.
